Fujitsu has partnered with the Australian Treasury to support the Government’s Standard Business Reporting (SBR) initiative, designed to reduce the regulatory reporting burden on Australian businesses. SBR will simplify business-to-government reporting and save Australian businesses approximately $800 million annually when fully implemented.
We plan to update the EDGAR system on 09/28/09 to, among other things, expand the tests the EDGAR system uses to validate information in Interactive Data File (XBRL) submissions. With this update, the EDGAR system will validate an increased number of technical requirements while processing filings that include Interactive Data Files. This part of the update does not change existing technical requirements; it will simply enhance the validation process the EDGAR system uses to confirm compliance with the EDGAR Filer Manual requirements.
On July 21st, 2009, the Social Investment Forum (SIF) wrote to the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the United States, recommending the introduction of mandatory Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting (see the SIF letter herethe SIF letter to the SEC).
